Mound City Little League Inc., established in 1951, boasts the finest organized little league ballpark in Licking County, located in Newark. The state-of-the-art facility offers six baseball and softball diamonds on-site, catering to instructional structured divisions for ages four to sixteen. Visitors can enjoy various amenities such as paved handicap and stroller-friendly walkways, covered seating areas, modern restroom facilities, concession stands, water fountains, and ample parking space. The central fieldhouse is a focal point of the park with restroom facilities and concessions on the lower level. Additionally, an upper-level clubhouse features a wrap-around viewing deck offering panoramic views of the entire park.
Mound City Little League was founded on the principle that all children should have the opportunity to participate in the great sports of baseball and softball, regardless of financial means. Since 1951, MCLL's governing documents have tasked the commission with identifying alternative sources of revenue to fund operations. As a non-profit, the commission has risen to the challenge each year through donations from local organizations in Licking County, fundraising events like bowl-a-thons, hosting outside tournaments, and tag days when permitted by COVID-19 protocols. While the costs of running baseball and softball programs including uniforms, umpire fees, and food have increased over the decades, MCLL has continued to streamline organizational and operational expenses to maintain accessibility. Through over 70 years of practice, costs remain managed in spite of rising expenses. We thank all donors for their generous support year after year in bettering the lives of Licking County's youth. We look forward to the start of another season this spring.
The objective of Mound City Little League Inc. shall be to firmly implant in the youth of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and reverence, so they may become finer, stronger and happier youth and will grow into good, moral, healthy citizens
