Newark, OH — The First Annual Licking County Invitational is set to bring a surge of competitive recreational baseball to Mound City Little League as thirty four teams arrive for two weekends of high energy play, community support, and a championship atmosphere that is expected to grow into a major summer event for Central Ohio.

Pool play begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday June 6 and continues through Sunday June 7. Teams will compete for seeding before elimination play begins on June 13. The tournament will conclude on June 14 with Championship Sunday, a full day of decisive games that will determine the first champions of the event.

Each team will play a minimum of three games. The top performers will advance through the bracket for a chance to earn custom championship rings. Entry at the gate is a suggested one dollar donation and all proceeds will support Nationwide Children’s Hospital for pediatric cancer research. Additional donations are welcomed and appreciated.

Fans attending the event can enjoy Mound City’s full concession stand which operates on a cash only basis and features the league’s well known fried bologna sandwich. The ballpark environment is expected to be lively throughout both weekends.

Tournament schedules, brackets, and rules are available on the Mound City Little League website at moundcityll.com. The league maintains open access to all tournament information so families and coaches can plan without difficulty.

With thirty four teams, two full weekends of baseball, and a championship day designed for high level recreational competition, the First Annual Licking County Invitational is positioned to become a must attend event for programs across the region.
